Post-Mortem Investigations

Examinations

Wild Animal Health will carry out post-mortem examinations of free-living, and captive, wild animals to reveal the diagnoses which have been associated with death. All species of mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian or invertebrate will be accepted for investigation. Each case is assessed based on gross pathological findings and further diagnostic tests may include bacteriology, mycology, virology, histopathology and toxicology. These investigations aim to provide a thorough understanding of the underlying causes and contributing factors in the wild animal’s death.

If you wish to submit a carcass please contact Wild Animal Health on 07940 892630 or via the Contact Form for submission information.
